In times of confinement, you want to escape and it's possible! Are you stuck at home? That's good, you should have a kitchen! It's time to take a culinary journey and awaken your taste buds. Maybe you'll discover your cooking talent at the same time.

Starter: leek empanadas

 

This recipe straight from South America can be served as an aperitif or as a starter. It is a small turnover filled with leek. It can be served with a sauce made with mustard, mayonnaise and honey.

 

Ingredients (for 4 people) : 4 tablespoons of fresh cheese with garlic and herbs + 1 egg yolk + 3 leeks + 1 puff pastry.

 

Preheat your oven to 210°C.

Wash and slice the leeks. Cook them and melt them in a pan with water. Once cooked, add the cheese and stir.

Place a spoonful of the mixture in puff pastry rounds and close the pastry in a crescent shape, pressing down well on the edges to close them. Brush the edges with egg yolk.

Bake for 20 minutes!

 

Dish: moussaka

 

A detour to Greece with the famous typical dish of aubergine moussaka.

 

Ingredients: salt + pepper + béchamel + 800 grams of minced beef + ½ onion + cinnamon + olive oil + 400 grams of crushed tomatoes + 1 kg of eggplant + Greek cheese "kasseri". 

 

Cut the aubergines into thin slices and fry them in olive oil. Drain for 1 hour. Fry the sliced onion in olive oil and add the beef. Add the pinch of cinnamon, crushed tomatoes, salt and pepper.

Cook over low heat for 1/2 hour.

In a casserole dish, line the bottom with grilled eggplant. Then add the minced meat and sprinkle with Greek cheese. Put the béchamel and sprinkle again with the Greek cheese.

Let gratinate for 20 minutes in the oven!

 

Dessert: pastéis de nata

 

Greedy arrival in Portugal with the Pasteis de nata which are small flans to be sprinkled with cinnamon if you like.

 

Ingredients (for 4 people): 4 egg yolks + ⅓ Litre of milk + 165 grams of sugar + 40 grams of flour + 1 pinch of salt + 1 puff pastry + lemon zest

 

Preheat your oven to 300°C.

Cook the mixture of milk, salt, sugar, flour and lemon in a saucepan. Allow to cool and add the egg yolks. Mix.

Pour the mixture into small moulds already filled with puff pastry. 

Put in the oven for 20 minutes!
